Ermenegildo Zegna Couture Spring/Summer 2015-Stefano Pilati applied his relaxed hand to the latest collection from Ermenegildo Zegna Couture, looking to architecture and space as the starting points of the season. Studying the relationship between the two, Pilati spun the concept into a mature discussion, covering innovations and destructions, splendor and decadence, philosophy and romanticism, masculine and feminine, architecture vs space and textures vs surfaces. Pumping up the volumes as is signature to his work, Pilati executed a concept of space while using graphic touches to emphasize architecture. Inserting stripes into the dialogue, the formality of tradition was opened up to personal interpretation. The results included oversized cuffed pants that created a demure silhouette, long fluid coats, relaxed elongated t-shirts, a polished take on the windbreaker, cropped shirt jackets and a pop of color that came in rich jewel tones.
