FACULTY debuts its newest nail lacquer, POWER, with a bold ad campaign. The advertisement features Umar ElBably, the co-founder of FACULTY. ElBably collaborates with photographer Antonio Chicaia to create an ad that contrasts a rebellious mentality akin to breaking the rules with the business world’s normalcy. ElBably wears a suit to the office, but his pink hair and FACULTY’s hyper-pink nail lacquer POWER make him stand out.
FACULTY POWER Campaign
“FACULTY exists out of a fury of rage I built up during childhood,” confesses co-founder Umar ElBably. “I’ve always been a ‘misfit’ – whether it was my blue-dyed hair at the age of seven, skateboarding around and breaking rules, my aspiration to be the next Pete Wentz, or my exploration with my three sisters’ makeup.”
A self-described misfit, ElBably explains, “It all came and felt natural to me, and yet, to everyone around me, I was doing something wrong. Simply, I was trying to express myself and have fun while doing it.”
For ElBably, “Art is a form of expression, as is fashion, and as is what we’re extending at FACULTY.” The co-founder elaborates, “We view beauty, fashion, and accessories as tools for expression, tools to have fun with…So we’re going to continue being “misfits” and creating a community of like-minded individuals, creating products and accessories to express ourselves, and having fun nonchalantly.”
