Karlota Laspalas is a Spanish designer from Barcelona. For her fall 2009 collection entitled “Wood Do Wow”, Laspalas seeks to reclaim the beauty of simplicity and a certain naturalness. Drawn to earthy colors and the imperfections of nature, Laspalas drapes loose monochromatic numbers that have ample space for living. While high waist pants are oversized and cinched at the waist, the dress shirt is revamped for a minimal yet intriguing silhouette that falls in line with the collection’ many integrable separates. Slouchy and conveying a worn-in feel, Laspalas delivers a collection that is as stylish as it is comforting.
