Placed by Gideon’s fall collection continues designer Gideon Tam’s intense love for knitwear. Taking on the basics with vigor in an effort to keep them current, Tam takes to the fall season with a conservative color palette that highlights design, while also making the pieces easily integrable. From the inspirational styling to the simple, but earnest direction, the collection offers outstanding pieces that are quite frankly ready to be worn. Approaching the unconventional twinset in a masculine manner, asymmetry strikes the right balance, while the chunky knit sweater is reinterpreted as several pieces, most notably the chic cardigan and crafty arm-warmers. In the case that the great number of knits create an appearance that is too soft, the collection’s finer features are offset by the rebellious nature that is associated with drop crotch pants. Altogether, the collection strikes a chord that is not only fitting of the times, but suited for the long run.
OMG! I’m loving this collection! I really hope we have a cold winter in California so I can wear more knits! At least I can dream! Haha!
