Fall 2009 marks the launch of designer Wolfgang Joop’s menswear line under the German label Wunderkind. The collection marries a wonderful country vibe to the image of a refined modern dandy. Sensible suiting is offset by large tied ribbons, the cotton cummerbund and even a frollic in red, blue and brown dye. Overall, the collection’s aesthetic is quite charming, but also one note. Not a bad first effort, but it leaves one to wonder how the second collection will take shape.
