Missoni
Missoni is an Italian fashion house. The label was founded in 1953 in Gallarate, Lombardy by Ottavia and Rosita Missoni. Originally, the business was a small knitwear workshop. The fashion brand really came into its own during the 1970s when magazine editors raved about Missoni’s knitwear.
Rosita departed the business in the early nineties, leaving her duties to her daughter Angela. Continuing in the family business, Angela has directed the house since. Although, Missoni produces complete ready to wear collections and a home line, the label is still synonymous with its knitwear and its chevron prints. This even prompted Target to collaborate with the brand in 2011 for a lower-priced collection. This was a success and immediately sold out.
