Perry Ellis
Perry Ellis, originally Perry Ellis International, made its debut in 1978. The label was the brainchild of designer Perry Ellis. Establishing his showroom on New York’s Seventh Avenue, Ellis was known for his marriage of classic menswear and whimsical details. Following Ellis’ death in 1986, Marc Jacobs came to the label as designer, working from 1988 to 1993. Jacobs is known for challenging the status quo with his grunge-inspired designs at the time. Fast forward to modern times and Perry Ellis is led under the creative direction of Michael Maccari, who very much honors the spirit of the late Ellis.
