Inspired by director Ingmar Bergman’s film The Seventh Seal, Hope designers Ann Ringstrand and Stefan Söderberg come together to craft an understated collection that gives life to the cold and barren. Looking to black and navy accented by an off-white winter, hood details and leather trousers are used to restructure the classics. While army boots and snow parkas reference the past, crinkled wool and leather are patched together for a rugged sense of luxury. Modeled after a game of chess between the film’s protagonist, a medieval knight and death himself, a checkered pattern makes a final impression that also embodies fall’s collection–one of great substance, thought and care.
