River Viiperi acts as model muse for spring-summer 2015

Anzevino Getty Spring/Summer 2015 Collection

Anzevino Getty designers William Anzevino and August Getty pay an homage to idealism for the spring-summer 2015 season. Combining opposite worlds, the design team imagines the ideal California boy and urbanite. Injected with a sense of humor and bold personality, Anzevino Getty serves up an energized season, colored with bright blood orange, shocking yellow, ripstop and other enticing hues. Desiring a closer look at the collection, we connected with the designers for the latest in our interview series.

How would you describe Anzevino Getty’s ideal man?

The Anzevino Getty guy probably spends too much time making playlists on Spotify, but nobody knows because his profile is private. He’s already excited for the next opening at Gagosian Gallery. He knows what he likes to wear, and is always looking for a new version of it. He’s confident, nerdy, savvy and intuitively ahead of the curve. But ultimately he’s too cool to care about any of that. You’ll never hear him discussing his Instagram or the next iPhone – obviously.

Who is the ideal California boy?

The ideal California boy is probably a little sunburned, definitely has some sand in his car, knows his way to the mountains but is no stranger to Hollywood.

The ideal urbanite?

The ideal urbanite remembers DTLA before Church and State, and has waited his turn for a reservation at Hinoki and the Bird. He probably trains at Equinox and regularly watches films at Arclight. He has a 5 star uber rating and a membership at Lacma that he keeps in his CDG wallet.

How does color play into the design process?

Color is like a decorating process for us. We often build the garments first and then fill in the colors. For spring-summer 2015, we wanted to color our garments in a way that would make them appropriate at a Kazimir Malevich retrospective.

What are the dynamics of your working relationship?

We aim to make new variations of garments we both wear everyday. We are equal parts designer and muse.

Does your creative vision extend past the clothes to brand imagery?

Yes. We are (kinda) obsessed with picturing where our guys are wearing our work. Image creation is a direct extension of our design process. We start with asking each other – “now where is he going in that jacket?”
