Marlin–Designer Francisco Van Benthum looks to scuba diving and the world of the deep-sea for the inspiration of his spring/summer 2014 collection. Blending contemporary menswear ideas with aspects of diving, the wet suit plays muse to the incorporation of high-performance materials while inhabitants of the sea are translated into refined shapes and prints. Embracing a color palette of black and white, accented by blue, green and gray, an element of the collection taps into transformation with overcoats featuring sleeves that with the slip of a button can be fitted or loose. Meanwhile, nylon and neoprene offer a sporty edge at the tailored hand of van Benthum.
