GAR-DE is a collaborate effort between designers to select a category each season and approach it with innovative ideas.  Eventually, each season linked will hopefully build a complete collection.

The GAR-DE Fall/Winter 2008 collection centers around one of the oldest materials used in clothing: leather.  With this debut collection, GAR-DE, which means ‘protection’ in French, wanted to fully embody the literal meaning of its name.  Leather is constructed into shapes that visually allude to arms overlapping or crossing, evoking the idea of protection.  Varying surface textures and colors of leather, dramatic collars and hoods, and slim fits with a bit of geometry, create a fresh approach to traditional leather construction and design.
