Azzuolo’s Day Out–Giuliano Fujiwara’s spring/summer 2014 collection marks the first outing for designer Antonio Azzuolo. Imagining a modern nomad for his debut outing, the Canadian/Italian designer looks to meld fantasy and reality for a free-spirited approach to menswear. Enlisting model Anatol Modzelewski for the collection’s lookbook, one of the themes reinforced comes from Malick’s film The Tree of Life. Representing the metaphor of life with a journey that touches upon, innocence, purity and spontaneity on the way to maturity, the range plays with these elements, prompting an all-encompassing wardrobe. Blending sportswear and streetwear for a touch of eclecticism, sharp jackets are worn with sneakers and bombers are reinterpreted with kimono-like fasteners. From shorts and leggings to sweatshirts and trousers, Giuliano Fujiwara cheerfully creates the modern collection.
