Leather, velvet and studs come together for Givenchy’s fall-winter 2016 men’s collection.

Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci offered a dark spin on western and Americana-inspired style for his fall-winter 2016 men’s collection. Sharp, trim tailoring received an instant update with lapels trimmed in fur and velvet. Boots accompanied the sartorial looks, finished in crushed velvet. Long boxy coats were embellished with patches of leather.

Updating a contemporary selection of hooded leather jackets and coats, Tisci added fringe to his design arsenal. Appearing alongside cable-knit adorned outerwear, Tisci’s fringed approach to the season still left room for Givenchy’s signature stars and stripes. The prints were scaled down and juxtaposed with dark images of skulls and angels. Rounding out the season with an earthy moment, brown tweeds and plaid offered a grounded counterpoint to sporty bomber jackets.
