Spring 2020 marks the fourth edition of Bloomingdale’s Mix Masters campaign. This season, fashion, style, and entertainment come together as actor Glen Powell plays the retailer’s leading man. Photographed by Cliff Watts, Powell stars in an advertisement that features the latest trends, which can be mixed and matched for ideal style.

The Top Gun: Maverick actor discusses his favorite pieces for the season. The checked jacket and sweater because I was told I reminded people of Paul Newman in it, says Powell. He’s one of my idols. That old-school style is what I’m aiming to re-create. I try to be very precise and deliberate about bringing that timeless look back because I don’t think many people are doing it anymore.

Speaking of icons, Powell acts alongside Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick. For him, the best part of the reboot was Getting to work with Tom Cruise. Powell explains, I basically got Tom Cruise film school every day on set. He’d tell me to watch a movie, I’d watch it that night and then we’d talk about it the next day.
