Gucci recently announced the departure of its creative director Alessandro Michele, but as they say in show business, the show must go on. Gucci Cosmogonie Campaign
Mert & Marcus photographed the Gucci Cosmogonie cruise 2023 campaign. The photography duo collaborated with art director Christopher Simmonds to capture the advertisement that reflects the connection between the past and the future. This idea is especially relevant regarding Gucci’s path forward concerning creative direction.
Faces familiar to Gucci come together as the stars of the Gucci Cosmogonie campaign. David Ge, Adedayo Atiba, Joel Lumbroso, and Joep front the ad, embodying the roles of scholars, poets, philosophers, astronomers, and mathematicians. Meanwhile, Carlos Nazario styles the models in bold fashions that tap into the past via classics and reimagine them for the future.
Gucci Cosmogonie’s sixteenth-century dream comes together with a set design by Gary Card. Meanwhile, the luxury brand enlists the aid of hair stylist Paul Hanlon and makeup artist Thomas De Kluyver to ensure that its model muses are photo-ready. De Kluyver even applies a hint of lipstick for an emboldened, modern look!
