Gucci recognizes a new reality with the reveal of its fall 2020 campaign. The label takes into account the pandemic and self-quarantine. It employs a group of fresh faces as both the models and photographers. Entitled “The Ritual,” the advertisement began with no guidelines. Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele explains, “I rather forged the conditions for a combustion: because I longed for a spark able to set a splendidly eccentric human potential on fire.” The designer adds, “In this game of mirrors, that reverses the roles and redefines the functions, every shot breathes as a fresco.”
