London Calling-The starting point of Gucci’s fall/winter 2014 menswear collection by creative director Frida Giannini is the city of London in the 1960s. Heading on an imaginary journey that take place on the British streets during a historical moment of experimentation and cultural change, the Italian fashion house delivers a collection deeply influenced by the past, but translated into a present idea of dressing. Models Arthur Gosse, Baptiste Radufe and Janis Ancens are enlisted by the luxury label to appear in its fall lookbook, displaying the skinny silhouettes conceived for the upcoming fall season. Combining slim-fitted designs with highly tailored volumes and garments, Gucci’s emblematic key piece for the new season is the fisherman’s cap, while the label’s luxurious leather accessories get a new twist with the addition of new color variations. Black, creamy and almost dusty pastel tones define the sense of style for the season, adding new energy to the garments, designed using fine fabrics, like wool, leather and velvet, combined with performing and sportswear oriented materials, like neoprene.
