Stylist Harry Lambert reunites with Zara for his second collaboration, aptly titled “Cutie Circus.” Slated for a September 20, 2024 release, the 70-piece collection is a nostalgic ride through circus themes and vintage aesthetics, heavily rooted in 1970s style.

Playful yet precise in its execution, the collection showcases a range of retro fashions, from Harrington jackets to polka-dot shirts, oversized tartan coats, and vivid knitwear. It’s a kaleidoscope of color and texture, where Lambert draws inspiration from the spectacle of circus life but grounds it in sartorial history.

The collection benefits from the illustrations of artist Aysha Nagieva, who has woven whimsy into the fabric of the designs. “It was such a fun, immediate process where every idea could be developed and expanded upon,” Nagieva noted.

The seamless integration of her artwork into the garments reinforces the mashup of past and present, with designs that evoke timeless nostalgia and a modern edge. Playfulness reigns supreme here, but the pieces remain rooted in wearability, invoking the kind of sartorial showmanship you’d expect from Lambert.

“It was so fun to show the illustrations and to eventually see where Harry and the Zara team took them with the clothing,” Nagieva added, highlighting the creative synergy between fashion and art in this unique collaboration.

Lambert’s collaboration taps into an era of excess and exuberance, where boldness was celebrated, yet it reinterprets that energy for today’s market. The result is a vibrant and nostalgic collection that invites modern wearers into a whimsical yet stylish arena.
