The third iteration of the H&M Edition by collection makes its debut for spring 2022. The concept centers on establishing the future of menswear in collaboration with a global community of individuals. For spring, H&M takes to the streets of New Orleans to launch a campaign celebrating progressive uniqueness and individuality. According to Ross Lydon, H&M’s Head of Menswear Design, “The starting point for each Edition collection is to challenge and innovate within our sustainability work.” Lydon adds, “One of the keys this season was to include natural and plant-based dyeing techniques. Classic menswear pieces, the great outdoors, and utility references are combined to create a modern look that we are very proud of.”

Working with aspects of workwear, gorpcore, and streetwear, H&M has created the new Edition by line. The convergence of current styles has resulted in a renewed emphasis on practical designs that add value through their beauty and their general functionality.
Utilizing contemporary plant dyes, innovation is at the heart of this season’s fashion. Plant extracts, bio-resins, natural clay, and enzymes contribute to treating H&M’s fabrics for the spring season. As a result, organic colors flourish without the use of harmful chemicals. Also included are mono-material compositions, which means that most of the clothing in this H&M collection can be recycled into new ones in the future.
