Seeking Aether–InAisce uses their latest collection to explore the feeling of exile. Contributing to a look at their fall/winter 2013 outing, InAisce turns to model Ger Duany. A South Sudanese refugee, Duany’s exile and return is a further illustration of the collection’s theme. Translating displacement into raw finishes and uneven panels, outerwear often reveals a certain elegance alongside a somber quality. Executed in shades of gray, the collection plays up a tension between the refined and the unfinished, culminating in a striking range featuring both sharp lines and draped silhouettes.
