This fall, Jonathan Mezibov joins the growing number of debut labels. Mezibov’s collection is built around the premise of offering men classic pieces, but with a modern take. Quite candid, Mezibov realizes that this idea is the aim of many other labels, but he hopes that the “design, fit and detail of [his] clothing [will] distinguish Jonathan Mezibov from other menswear labels.” Specifically, the fall collection draws its inspiration from the late Victorian period. Mezibov thought of Edith Wharton’s “The Age of Innocence” and imagined what its main protagonist, Newland Archer would wear. Drawing upon a keenness for style and sense of importance, the collection is shaped by its clean lines, luxurious details (mother of pearl buttons, velvet accents, etc.), and identity. The collection of well-designed and tailored suiting pieces engages a strong personality with natural confidence. These characteristics lend themselves to a modern chic collection fit for any man worth his salt.
