To the End of the World–To say the latest from Issey Miyake was out of this world would be an understatement. For the fall/winter 2013 collection of the label, technical innovation was close to the season’s heart with a great deal of texture play. Fusing the eastern-inspired relaxed fit with a modern view of fabrications, contrasting fabrics were fused together or furnished in metallic silver or gold. Embodying an active quality, the windbreaker was extended and transformed, existing as both a parka and a poncho. Meanwhile, quilted outerwear and foils provided for not only the ultimate style statement but a sense of protection.
