Rounding up the agencies’ best for a presentation of their upcoming spring collection last week, J.Crew showcased a range inspired by art at its finest. Moved by the pastels of Cy Twombly as well as the paintings of Winslow Homer, Frank Muytjens and his fellow designers ventured to Prouts Neck, Maine for a scenic search for further inspiration. Looking to the sea, spring’s collection found its voice in calming indigo paired with the clean performance of white and gray. With a nautical feel, J.Crew’s take on American classics came to fruition as an array of relaxed trousers and knits, complemented by light transitional outerwear.
