Wearing a wardrobe of Burberry, Bottega Veneta and other brands, Empire star Jussie Smollett stars in a new cover photo shoot for OUT magazine. The 32 year-old actor connects with photographer Michael Muller and stylist Grant Woolhead for the occasion.
Talking to the magazine about Empire fans who didn’t like Jamal’s affair with a woman, Smollett shares, “We got a lot of shit for that, and I get it.” At the same time, he suggests that it would have been different if it had been Andre with a guy. Smollett explains, “All of these children would be like, ‘Yes! Andre’s gay!’ Jamal didn’t have a problem with kissing Skye Summers [played by Alicia Keys] — the people around him had an issue with it. It’s usually other people’s issues, not our own.”
Discussing his own sexuality, Smollett confides, “God, I’ve never had to talk about this, so I’m trying to find the words. If I had to label myself, I would label myself as a gay man. With that said, I believe that love is the only thing that matters, and I would hope that anybody would leave themselves open — not to gender, but to love.” Read more on Out.com.
