The story of Justin Bieber played out in the tabloids as the teen idol gone bad boy for much of 2014, but the 21 year-old singer still had his die-hard fans, or Beliebers on his side. Taking a gamble to the potential tune of incredible social traction, Calvin Klein tapped Bieber for its spring-summer 2015 campaign. Instantly, images of Bieber in Calvin Klein underwear, following in the footsteps of actors such as Mark Wahlberg, went viral.
WWD reports that Calvin Klein gained around 3.6 million followers on its social accounts following the release of the campaign. The hashtag #mycalvins earned 1.6 million twitter mentions. A trending subject worldwide, it was no surprise that Bieber wasn’t going anywhere. Since, Bieber has appeared in fashion spreads for American Vogue and V magazine, while also gracing the cover of men’s fitness magazine Men’s Health.
