Lacoste Fall/Winter 2014–For fall/winter 2014, Lacoste creative director Felipe Oliveira Baptista was inspired by a series of images he captured last year while visiting the Basque region in France. Baptista paid a visit to Chantaco, a golf course which was built in the late 1920s by Rene Lacoste’s father-in-law. Enjoying the golf course, Lacoste’s wife Simone Thion de la Chaume as well as his daughter Catherine were golf champions. Inspired by the nonchalant elegance of Chantaco, Baptista brought a relaxed sophistication to the city for an urban collection of leisure. Dressed in a dark color palette, simple silhouettes gave birth to a wardrobe of sporty suits, oversized coats, sweatshirts and other modern essentials.
