When it comes to French fashion house Yves Saint Laurent, 2020 is the year of Lenny Kravitz. In addition to fronting the fall campaign for Saint Laurent menswear, Kravitz lands a fragrance campaign as the new face of YSL’ Y Eau De Parfum. The 56-year-old singer lends his signature brand of cool to YSL Beauty, mirroring the timeless rock edge of Y Eau De Parfum. The brand also has nothing but words of praise for Kravitz: “He’s cool. He’s hot. He’s an icon in the YSL style.” Ideally, the entertainer reflects the fragrance ethos. Kravitz shares, “I create to inspire myself, and if I can inspire others, then that is beautiful.”

Y Eau De Parfum is the creation of perfumer Dominique Ropion. The fragrance is the result of a “classic accord with a contemporary vibe.” It features a bold mix of sage, geranium, and wood. After all, YSL places its modern man in a place to ask, “Why Not?” The fragrance notes coincide with “More than a question. It’s an approach to life. A dare. A journey. Because the guy with the ‘why’ knows where he’s going, and he knows what he wants.”
