Leonardo DiCaprio lookalike Konrad Annerud makes his modeling debut, connecting with Barneys New York for its most recent lookbook. The 21 year-old Swedish singer hits the studio with photographer Steven Pan to don sartorial fashions from the spring-summer 2016 collection of Ralph Lauren Purple Label.
Discussing the shoot wardrobe, the aspiring singer is candid, “We don’t have that much Ralph Lauren in Sweden. We have all the classic polo shirts with the patch but these clothes—I like them! Especially the suits.” Commenting on the opportunities afforded to him for looking like DiCaprio, Annerud exclaims, “Even if all people talk about is the fact that I’m a look-alike, fuck those guys, I’m here in NYC modeling.”
Reflecting on his rise to internet stardom as a Leonardo DiCaprio doppelgänger, Annerud recalls an article in a local newspaper that started it all, sharing, “When the first paper posted it, my phone started to ring and it didn’t stop. They were calling my mom and my relatives and friends, and I thought, ‘Wow, this is getting too big for me.'”
