The Working WardrobeLou Dalton opened the London Collections: Men fall/winter 2013 season with a new range strong on winter tailoring and workwear. Double-breasted coats and jackets in a boxy silhouette in Raw Shetland wools dominated the collection, often with contrasted back panels and pocket flaps. Traditional red tartan and large-scale green and navy plaid provided a strong contrast against a darker palette, reflecting the inspiration behind this collection: the Northern Isles of Scotland. Workwear influences manifested in all-in-one jumpsuits, woolen gilets, and details such as fisherman’s hoods on lightweight outerwear, created in technical fabrics and oilskins. / Words by KENNY HO.
