Virgil Abloh places the emphasis on concept over collection for his Louis Vuitton campaign debut. Abloh explores boyhood and adolescence with a three-part spring-summer 2019 campaign. The outing features photography by Inez & Vinoodh, Mohamed Bourouissa, and Raimond Wouda. Approaching the season with a look at the path to manhood, Inez & Vinoodh capture children in playful poses. Meanwhile, Mohamed Borouissa takes his inspiration from the art world. For instance, Borouissa references a painting of Gustave Courbet entitled “The Artist’s Studio,” which features Abloh front and center. Finally, Wouda captures youth from Los Angeles in a relaxed look at adolescence.
