American Road Trip–This season, the Louis Vuitton man takes an American road trip. Louis Vuitton men’s studio and style director Kim Jones explained that “The collection is really about the freedom of the road and that freedom itself being luxurious.” Incorporating elements of American culture from a global sense, Jones channels the changing environment of the states going from “city to forest to desert; that journey in a day from snow-covered mountains to cacti in the desert that you only really seem to have in America.” Surveying American culture with a refined perspective, Jones tackles classic American sportswear, taking it from the iconic prep look of the 1960’s to the spirit of the outdoors and finally to a cherished high school prom.
