Power Boost–Tapped by Italian label Moschino to star in the fall/winter 2013 lookbook of its Love Moschino line, Brazilian model Lucas Mascarini (Fashion Milano) replaces Alfred Kovac as the brand’s favorite male face. With a collection that is inspired by different eras and aesthetics, like streetwear, a strict military sense of style, as seen on coats and jackets, or a more luxurious dandyish attitude, Love Moschino’s fall/winter 2013 offering plays with a reduced palette of colors, blending classic tones in menswear, like blue, black and grey, with rich browns and deep burgundy nuances or with more vibrant tones, like electric blue and fire-red. Forgetting for the season bold and irreverent prints, the collection gets quite a calm makeover, preferring simple layerings and playing with the color blocking trend. Alternating slim fitted sweaters with warm cable knitted numbers, paired with chinos and washed jeans rolled at the ankles, or mixing military inspired outerwear styles with more urban pieces, Lucas proves that this season, the simplest shapes are the strongest, if mixed and revisited with a strong fashion identity.
