Malick Bodian
Malick Bodian is a pioneering figure in modeling and photography, becoming the first black male model to walk for the Givenchy Couture show in 2020. He has gone on to star prominently in campaigns for renowned fashion houses such as Dior Men, Givenchy, Valentino, and Louis Vuitton.
Originally from Senegal, Bodian was discovered by an agent in Corsica at nineteen. His career skyrocketed after his debut runway show with Valentino for its fall-winter 2018 collection. From there, it was on to shows for Louis Vuitton and Maison Margiela and then editorials and campaigns, where it has been nothing but success.
In addition to modeling, Bodian has moved behind the camera, having started experimenting with photography, initially influenced by French artist Jean-Paul Goude, best known for collaborations with model and singer Grace Jones. Bodian’s budding portfolio includes editorial work for magazines like GQ España and campaigns for brands such as Bottega Veneta.
