Initial Impact–With his first season at MAN, Craig Green took an obsession between light and dark into the extreme. Head-to-toe layering in different textures of black and white covered the whole body including face coverings with giant wooden head dresses made from planks of splintered wood. Layering included cottons in different densities: satin, matte and waxed, combined with crinkle pleated linings, denim and wool felt. Hand-painted stripes were the collection’s single pattern, and glitter or vinyl edging made for the only forms of embellishment. / Words by KENNY HO
