For his latest collection, Brazil’s Mario Queiroz presents a feast for the eyes of epic proportions. An earth-toned color palette outfits a collection of partial kilts, cloaks, knits, and outerwear. Queiroz’s fall collection whimsically evokes the image of the medieval knight, while playing with ideas of gender. Shapes typically attributed to women’s fashion exude an old-time sense of masculinity. This is in part made possible by the sense of urgency that is created with the dramatic, but solemn cloaks and partial pleated kilts. In addition to its unique point of view, the collection succeeds in offering looks for both the adventurous and conservative man; a feat that is hard to achieve as seamlessly as Queiroz has.
