Inspired by director Gus Van Sant’s 1991 film My Own Private Idaho, McQ Alexander McQueen pays homage to tragic heroes and fallen boys with its spring-summer 2017 men’s collection. Weaving together various decades, McQ also finds a muse in a 1970s David Bowie. Filtering 70s style through a 90s lens, relaxed silhouettes flourish with flared trousers, oversized sweaters and patterned shirt. Injecting the collection with stripes and graphic t-shirts, style icons such as Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain come to mind. Continuing an eclectic flair for the season, lace shirting, leopard belts and patched denim round out the youthful outing.
