Daydreams of Paris–American designer Michael Bastian looked to French cinema for the inspiration of his spring/summer 2014 collection, citing films The Red Balloon and The Dreamers. Always looking for ways to present a different side to sportswear, Bastian romanticized its common elements, blending timeless menswear articles with Parisian references. The colliding cultures resulted in a Bohemian approach to the season with eclectic styles reigning. From a leopard adorned sweater or pineapple dressed trousers to revealing shorts, Bastian took more of a risk with his suave gentleman but balanced out the season with tailored jackets, lightweight knitwear and more.
