Continuously inspired by his move to New York, Mjölk designer Lars Stoten found this season’s direction during his daily bike ride to his new studio in Chinatown. Bordered by the East River and the urban scene of New York City, Stoten immediately saw another tale of generations. Taking in visuals of modernity against remnants of the past, Mjölk’s spring 2011 collection came into clear focus. Providing twenty-six images for spring, featuring Aiden Andrews and Joseph Culp, Stoten reinterpets his boxy proportions into a clean lineup that mimics the past, while energizing the present. From hand-cobbled Italian shoes and Liberty prints to hand-crafted belts, local to New York, Stoten puts his soul into another successful collection. / Photos by Russ & Reyn.
