Milan Fashion Week kicks off in less than a week’s time and Johannes Linder makes his way to castings with a bold new haircut that will no doubt gain him notice on the runway. Beginning his modeling career at the age of eighteen, this PMA model got his start during the summer of 2008. His father, a school teacher was initially not pleased, but Johannes’ strong will eventually won him over as well as continued success on the runway–appearing as a casting regular for established labels, ranging from Lanvin to Yves Saint Laurent. As fall 2010 campaigns roll out, Johannes’ future looks bright with Wooyoungmi’s latest efforts and with any luck, the catwalks of spring 2011 will mark his most successful season yet.

You walked a great number of shows for fall 2010–how was your experience?

Johannes Linder: I opened three shows this season and lots of others. It was fun and I enjoyed it a lot. I’ve gotten used to it as it is my fourth season.

You are more of a presence on the runway than in editorials…what do you prefer?

Johannes Linder: I definitely prefer runway. It’s more fun and I think it is normal to start of with [more] shows than print or campaign.

But still, what is your most memorable shoot?

Johannes Linder: It was an editorial shot in Scotland for Vman. It was incredibly cold, wet and I was freezing. I got sick afterwards…I will never forgot [that] experience.

What was your first shoot?

Johannes Linder: It was for the Topman campaign. I was nervous and very excited. In that time I was very inexperienced and had a lot to learn.
