The schedule of a model can be hectic, never knowing when you are going to be called away for a job, but one of the upsides is that you get to travel all over the world. For Lyle Lodwick, one of his dreams was to book a job that would require him to visit Japan, which came true this year. Booking catalogue work for Urban Outfitter’s spring season, Lyle flew to Japan to be photographed by Marlene Marino. Japan “exceeded [his] expectations. [They] “stayed in Shimoda right on the beach”, shooting during the day and relaxing at night. Always fascinated by Japanese culture, it was great to get out and experience the scene. Lyle recalls it being beyond culture shock and some of the sights being unbelievable such as a bar they went to “which was literally a thirty-second walk from the house [they] were staying in. The bar was called Cave Bar and it was literally inside of a cave.” Getting back to the shoot–while Lyle enjoyed both his time spent as a tourist and on set modeling, Marino reflected on the shoot sharing that “Lyle was incredible to work with, so at ease and natural, in front of [her] camera. [She is] always afraid that a model will be stiff, and not know how to improvise, or go with the momentum that [she tries to provide]. But Lyle is a star. His approach is intuitive. Ours was a really enjoyable, and seamless collaboration.”

I almost feel the same sentiment as dreamcrusher, what a fitting name. Urbn is getting better and better at showcasing their clothing.
