DNA model Mark Cox may be currently enjoying his time as a Prada boy, but this past season, his work for Calvin Klein cemented his status as a new leading model. Tapped for both the CK apparel and accessories campaign, Mark went clean and gritty for the label. Finding out about his Klein bookings was most definitely a career highlight. He had been “on option a few times before…so you can imagine how happy [he] was when [he] got it after missing out a few times.” Asked about his feelings when the campaign actually came out, Mark revealed that “it’s still strange to see [himself].” He’ll probably never get over the surreal aspect–especially when getting “messages from back home that friends see [him] in shopping malls and bus stops.” But on to more important matters, how did his accessories shoot go with Fabien Baron? As Mark explained, “They spray painted me and oiled me up. And the water is the finishing touch, you have no idea how much water and sand I had in my ears after the shoot, and the best part was that I got home all covered in sand and lotion and my shower stopped working for a couple of hours!!!!!” Guess there’s one thing that can get in between Mark and his Calvins–sand.
