A Taste of Moschino–Taking an alternative route from the bold prints of previous seasons, Moschino approaches the fall/winter 2013 season with versatility and subtlety. The show was held in a restaurant, the idea being that the collection would cater towards a wider demographic, like that of a tasting menu. Head designer Bill Shapiro took the vibrancy and color of the label and grounded them into tailored trousers and sleek overcoats finished with luxe details. A subdued color palette permeates the collection, with a wide range of greys appearing on wool blazers, structured jackets, and suiting separates. Lusciously patterned blazers and pants followed, alongside luxurious velvet dinner jackets, and finally, mixing in its unique flavor, Moschino ends the show with a series of staples painted with multicolored cobalt blue graphics. A collection that stayed true to the culture while stepping into a new direction, Moschino balances both the unique and the wearability.
