National Seersucker Day–The long-standing tradition of Seersucker day is set to be revived next month when fashion brand Haspel and a group of US Congressmen encourage people across the country to wear the famed puckered fabric. Seersucker Day dates back to the early 20th Century, when the summer-friendly material became a must when temperatures began to rise and air conditioning was not yet widespread. The tradition was then revived in 1996 by Senator Trent Lott, and after briefly being discontinued in 2012, will once again return to the halls of Congress—and the rest of the country—on June 11.
