Diesel by Nicola Formichetti Fall/Winter 2014–Presenting his debut collection for Diesel, the brand’s artistic director, Nicola Formichetti unveiled his fall/winter 2014 lineup in Venice. “This collection is a foundational collection. We are re-looking at our iconic pieces and the themes and spirit of Diesel,” says Formichetti “looking at what we essentially are and what we stand for, and then looking at where we are going to.” The collection also marks the one year anniversary of Formichetti’s new role at Diesel. Bringing a young brash spirit to the brand, Formichetti revisits Diesel’s heritage and blends it with what’s happening with fashion out on the streets. Built around Diesel Icons, fall 2014 features leather rock ‘n’ roll, denim and military-utility. Put together with an eclectic energy, oversized knitwear and outerwear is married to denim, both distressed, ripped and bleached.
