Modern Business–Designer Nicomede Talavera enlists photographer Andy Malone to shoot his spring/summer 2014 collection lookbook, featuring models Aidan Ledward and Lewis Conlon. Expanding on his inspiration for the fall season, Talavera continues to look at the work of artist Elsworth Kelly. Instead of Kelly’s color blocking, asymmetric collages motivated the season’s abstract use of shapes. Reinterpreting the rigid wardrobe attributed to business men with a streetwear-inspired sneaker and backpack style selection, Talavera injects tailored silhouettes with a modern attitude. Worn over structured tops, polos and vests, oversized shirts of nylon are brought together with billowing trousers and baggy shorts for an engaging spring outing.
