Talking about his Dancing with the Stars experience as a deaf contestant, DiMarco shares, “Dancing with the Stars approached me, they asked me if I wanted to be part of the show. At first, I wasn’t quite sure because I know quite a lot of deaf people who can dance, but I wasn’t sure if I was the right person to represent them because if I made a mistake, that would have been 15 million people thinking that deaf people can’t dance.”
DiMarco continues, “I wasn’t sure if I wanted to take that on. But I worked well with my dance partner Peta Murgatroyd. It took a lot of practice but we aced it, and I had the ability to change people’s perspective and I wanted to take advantage of that.”
