Connecting with H&M in his Paris studio, Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing discusses his history with the Swedish brand and the importance of the new collaboration. Rousteing shares, “I’m an H&M boy. I’m an H&M generation. I was getting the clothes from H&M…waiting three hours to get the clothes. I know the excitement that can happen to the people of the world. So that’s something I think is amazing.” Explaining the connection to Balmain, the designer continues, “Balmain is a real luxury brand and inclusive and really pushing the concept of diversity and communicating with the world.”
