From the medieval period to the common chess board, the knight comes alive as the inspiration for OntFront’s spring 2010 collection. Designer Liza Koifman and Creative Director Tomas Overtoom reinterpreted the knight as the modern man of style. In an innovative fashion, the blazer’s form becomes the armor as dress shirts reign with crafty lapels. The sleek use of complementary colors give the collection dimension, while also working well into the collection’s concept of a coat of armor. At times, the usage of the knight’s chess piece can be a little much, but overall the collection still charms with spontaneity and youthful creativity.
I was expecting the chess pieces and that was a great surprise. The tans (on the models) are a little distracting though.
