spain is probably the place in the world that counts the biggest number of fashion weeks in the same country ! madrid, barcelona, valencia, burgos, gran canaria, bilbao, cádiz, … and murcia with its annual “pasarela abierta” celebrating this year its 9th edition … unlike the majority of its “competitors”, the specificity of this fashion week – or rather weekend – is to represent a platform for emerging designers (some of them have even only just graduated) and only emerging designers …
showcasing mainly the collections of national designers, the event also presents every season at least one international guest (this year being georgy baratashvili) …
the collection is all about prints, dyeing effects and textlle research … the designers manuel gómez and raúl paco like to experiment with fabrics and technics in order to create their own textures and motifs …
