Primarily concerned with providing accessible, but relevant choices for all occasions, People’s Market attacks the fall season with slender proportions and a young approach to today’s classics. Designer Dexter Wong crafts a collection that reinterprets the typical into trend-worthy pieces. Just as skinny jeans might be seen as a staple, here they are reworked in a version that billows out from the waist before falling into a tapered leg. Meanwhile, the remainder of the collection plays at intermixing pieces old and new for a modern look where blazers are once against separates. In this same world, bow-ties are made current when set against red and black checkered prints. If anything, Wong’s fall collection teaches us that sometimes the best looks are the result of mixing a variety of aesthetics and trends, all while remaining grounded.
